Your site has two readers who never see the screen
One is the AI agent answering your customer instead of Google. The other is someone using a screen reader — and since 28 June 2025 the law says they have to get through. Both need the same things: structure, alternative text, markup that means something. One audit measures both.

We analyse your homepage right away: readability for AI agents and accessibility barriers, using axe-core in a real browser.
What we check
The scan runs in Chromium against the rendered page, not the HTML source: it counts what a reader actually meets, JavaScript included.
So AI agents recommend you
- Blocked AI crawlers
GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot have to be able to read the site. Blocking them, usually by accident, keeps you out of the answers.
- Product structured data
Name, price, availability and SKU in JSON-LD: this is what a shopping agent compares.
- A readable return policy
Agentic checkouts look for MerchantReturnPolicy. Without it, many agents will not complete the purchase.
- Content without JavaScript
Most AI crawlers do not run JS: if the content only arrives client-side, the page reads as empty.
- Checks matched to the kind of site
A shop is asked for catalogue, prices and returns; a blog for date, author and feed; a portfolio for the Person entity and its projects. No site is marked down for what it is not.
- Real mentions across the models
We query GPT, Claude and Perplexity with your own market’s questions and count how often you come up, and how often your competitors do.
- Share of voice
Being cited is not enough: what counts is how much room you take up next to whoever competes with you in the same answer.
So people who never see the screen can buy
- Colour contrast
The minimum WCAG AA ratio on text and components. It is the most common violation on Italian online shops, and it usually comes from the theme rather than the content.
- Alternative text on images
Without alt text a catalogue is invisible to anyone using a screen reader — and to the very product images AI agents are trying to interpret.
- Labelled forms and checkout
Fields with no associated label make a basket unusable from the keyboard: this is where a barrier turns directly into a lost sale.
- Heading structure and landmarks
Heading hierarchy and page regions are what make a site navigable without seeing the screen.
- Accessible names on controls
Buttons and links that offer nothing but an icon say nothing at all to assistive technology.
- Document language and attributes
With no declared language, speech synthesis reads the text with the wrong pronunciation: a small barrier to fix, a large one to live with.
On accessibility, it is no longer a choice
Directive (EU) 2019/882 — the European Accessibility Act, brought into Italian law by D.Lgs. 82/2022 — applies to consumer-facing services, e-commerce included. The deadline was 28 June 2025: it has passed, and the obligation is already in force. The reference standard is WCAG 2.1 level AA, and the full report verifies it across up to 25 pages, with the CSS selectors to fix.
Two limits, stated up front rather than afterwards
Automated testing finds a substantial share of barriers, not all of them: some requirements — end-to-end keyboard navigation, comprehensibility of content, screen reader compatibility — need manual evaluation, and no automated tool can stand in for it in a conformance statement.
Microenterprises providing services are also outside the directive’s obligations. If that is you, accessibility remains a commercial advantage but not a legal duty: check your position with an adviser before you spend.
